Who We Are
Urba Baby is a family owned business that opened it’s first location in July 2011 at 1117 W. Armitage Avenue, in the heart of the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago. Urba Baby expanded it’s original concept this past August 2012 by opening their second location at 1751 W. Division Street in the heart of the Wicker Park community.
Urba Baby was founded by Marti Goyal, after having her first child “E” in September 2010 and developing a passion for everything baby. Living in the city and trying to find all of the necessities for new families, she found it to be a challenge. The Urba Baby concept is based on the belief that city parents should have a place to go to find all of the baby products they need, while also having access to community services to help new families grow and learn. All of the products carried by Urba Baby are tested, used and loved by the founders themselves. In July 2012, founders Urba Mama and Urba Dada welcomed their second son “G” and now are expanding their concept even more by offering a wider range of items for Moms, Tots & Babies!
Urba Baby is establishing itself as a community baby store. We look forward to joining the parent community in downtown Chicago and offering families a place to shop and learn. We believe in giving back to the community and look forward to hosting, partnering and sponsoring events around Chicago.
Urba Baby is proud to support local Chicago charities such as; The Little Giraffe Foundation, Project Ladybug, Charles Tillman Cornerstone Foundation, Bundle of Joy, Bright Horizons and many more.
Urba Baby offers shopping, classes, events, story-time, and workshops for city families.
