Marti Goyal – Founder & CEO
Marti became a first time mother in September of 2010, when she had her first son “E” and she had her second son “G” who was born in July 2012, which makes her a mother of two now! While pregnant with “E”, she realized she wanted to create a place where city families could shop but also have access to community resources to help them learn and grow. After her baby boy arrived, her passion for this new business concept grew even stronger. She decided she wanted to create a place where she could be around what she loved most, her family, and continue with her passion for being an entrepreneur. Marti graduated from The Art Institute of California – San Diego and has a background in Graphic Design, Marketing and Advertising. She loves photography and being creative. Marti has been recognized for being a young professional in Chicago, she was featured in CRAVEChicago and was nominated for Power 30 under 30 in June 2011.
Urba Baby opened its doors in June of 2011, and Marti could not be happier to see her vision come to life. Prior to Urba, Marti was an owner of Aniko Salon & Spa located in the South Loop. She enjoys traveling and spending time with her family, her hubby “Urba Dada”, E, G and Oscar.

Bryce Gangel – Sales & Training Supervisor
Bryce Gangel is pleased as punch to be joining the Urba Baby Team. This past May she graduated from Loyola University Chicago with a B.A. in Theatre & Dance. Bryce hopes she can utilize her artistic talents for the Urba Baby Community. Bryce has a six year old brother named Max whom she draws inspiration from daily. When not working, she enjoys cooking for her friends as well as traveling and watching Oklahoma City Thunder Basketball.
John Accrocco – E-Commerce Lead & Senior Sales Associate
John J. Accrocco is a recent graduate of Columbia College Chicago. Summer is always a fun time for John as it takes him back to his high school lifeguarding days in Dayton Ohio. In addition to working for Urba Baby, John is a freelance writer for a few local newspapers. One day John hopes to be a published novelist but until then you can catch him zipping across Chicago on his vintage Schwinn and singing jingles to his kitten Toulouse.
Catherine Degen – Assistant Manager
Catherine is very pleased to be the newest member of the Urba team. She just moved to Chicago from Austin, Texas where she finished her BA in Women’s Studies at St. Edward’s University. She is currently working on her doula certification and hopes to become more connected to the birthing community here in Chicago. After a few years of Texas summers she is glad to be back in the Midwest where it snows, and to be closer to her family in Madison, Wisconsin where she grew up and worked in a toy store for several years.
