CPR (Non-Cert.) for Parents/Family hosted by Chicago CPR at Urba Baby Wicker Park

When was your last CPR class? When you were pregnant? Would you know what to do for a choking or water emergency? This fun class features the “Family & Friends CPR Course” content from the American Heart Association. It teaches the lifesaving skills of adult Hands-Only CPR, child CPR with breaths, adult and child AED use, infant CPR and relief of choking in an adult, child or infant. This class is especially geared for parents. CPR Instructors have experience working with more than 20,000 new families, and we are skilled in the safety challenges that new parents face. We also include the other essential safety information specific to new families: SIDS prevention, poison control and car seat safety.

About Nili: Nili Yelin began her “sit down, stand up style of storytelling” 10 years ago during an actor’s strike and never looked back. Combining her passion for picture books, comedy, mommyhood and little ones she created The Storybook Mom. Nili performs weekly around the Chicago area and hosts The Kids Corner every June at the Chicago Tribune Printers Row Lit Fest, her all time favorite book event.Nili is proud to be the Chicago ambassador for World Read Aloud Day in March. Nili has performed at The Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium, many other museums, libraries, schools and festivals around the country and reads at least one new picture book a day…Nili is working on her own picture book about the world of storytelling and feels blessed to meet all the wonderful writers, readers and listeners out there.

Lauren is so excited to have found Bubbles Academy, where she uses her love of music, yoga and teaching to help kids be creative and, of course, silly!  She is a native of Chicago, but received her vocal music education degree at the University of Missouri in Kansas City.  Since graduation, Lauren has worked with children as an elementary school music teacher in Kansas and as a peace educator at the Children’s Peace Pavilion in Missouri.  Lauren sings and plays guitar, ukelele and piano in a band that performs all over Chicago.  She takes guitar lessons at the Old Town School of Folk Music and donates her time and talents to Practice With a Purpose, a program that brings live music to schools, hospitals and churches.  Lauren teaches our Urba Baby Music class!
